The stars are always there. At night-time we can see them because it is dark. During the day-time the sun is so bright that we cannot see the stars.

The moon orbits the earth. It is not always out at night, some times it is out in the daytime. This depends on the phase of the moon. When the moon is between the sun and the earth it is out in the day time but we don’t see it as it is not lit up. When the earth is between the moon and the sun it is fully lit and out in the night time. In between it is partially lit and out in both the day and the night.
