We sleep for 8 hours in a day. So we are awake and blinking for 16 hours.
16 hours = 16 x 60 minutes = 960 minutes.
Now the rate we blink depends what we’re doing. Staring at a computer screen is maybe 3 blinks per minute. Walking in a windy dusty day maybe 20-30 blinks a minute. A good guess is probably 10 blinks a minute.
So – 10 blinks per minute x 960 minutes in a day = 9600 blinks!
Estimating is a really good way to get an approximate answer – often that will do.
I’m not sure either but as Amar said you can have a good guess.
A 16 hour day is a good estimate as we sleep on average 8 hours a day.
I think we blink more than what Amar has said – I think we blink around 20 times a minute but it’s hard to estimate this part!
S0 16 hours a day X 60 (minutes in an hour) = 960 minutes
