I work closely with the Professor Alan Ashworth who was the first to discover the BRCA2 gene which Angelina Jolie carries a mutated version.
I also once met James Watson, one of the people who worked out the structure of DNA, which I think is one of the most important scientific discoveries of all time.
I don’t know anyone superfamous. But I think I saw Ant or Dec when I was walking around in London. My wife has a better story – she was measuring lichens and mosses on tree when the Hollywood actor Jude Law asked her what she was doing. Does that count?
I once worked as a silver service waitress and often served famous clients like DJs, presenters and politicians (although some of them haven’t been famous for a long time!!!)
In science I have met BBC TV Presenter Alice Roberts, author Bill Bryson (who told me that the world needs more virologists!), Simon Watt from Inside Nature’s Giants, Sir Paul Nurse and Sir Anthony Epstein who discovered Epstein-Barr virus, which is the virus I work on.
