      Hi Raiden,

      There are so many medicinal drugs (probably 10000) with new drugs coming out every year. Many drugs were found as natural products from plants but more recent drugs have been developed specifically. Some new drugs are developed to replace exiting treatment because they are either more effective or have few side effects.

      One of the main reasons there are so many drugs is that there are so many different diseases. The majority of which we still don’t really understand how to treat. The work going on daily in research labs around the world is trying to tackle this.
