There’s no one thing that will stop you getting cancer. To reduce your risk you can eat healthily and try to keep your body fit and healthy. Avoid carcinogens (things that cause mutations) common ones are UV light (put sun screen on!) and nasty chemicals.
The world cancer research fund is a charity that promotes preventing cancer before it starts these are their top ten ways to reduce your risk of getting cancer:-

2) do 30 minutes physical activity a day
3) limit sugary drinks and energy dense food those high in sugar and fat

7) limit salt intake
8) don’t use supplements to prevent against cancer
9) breast feed if your a lady and have babies

The others are right – according to the World Health Organisation about 30% of all deaths from cancer are caused by having a poor diet, not enough exercise. smoking or drinking too much alcohol. There are also risks from other things that can damage DNA, called carcinogens. However, just like there is no one thing that causes cancer there is no one thing you can avoid to protect from it entirely.
– The World Health Organisation collect and publish huge amounts of data about the numbers and types of cancer people get all around the world. Their cancer factsheet is here http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs297/en/
In addition to the other answers, some vitamins and supplements can increase the risk of cancer. Some people think they can live an unhealthy life but taking vitamins makes it ok. It is much better to eat a healthy balanced diet to get all the vitamins you need.
