The best thing I have done in science so far was getting the work I did for my PhD published in a scientific journal.

Scientific journals are where all the research from around the world ends up so anyone else can read what you’ve done, learn from it and use it to help their research.

To get published your work is reviewed by other scientists and has to be accepted by them first. This means getting published feels like a great big pat on the back and makes you feel like you have made a real contribution to science.

Best thing ive done in science is trained at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. Its a specialist cancer hospital. Thanks to that training ive become a senior biomedical scientist at a young age.

The best thing I’ve done so far was going to university. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and just knew I liked ‘biology’. Doing my degree helped me realize exactly what it is about biology that I enjoy 🙂

I have been lucky enough to travel to Australia for 4 months as part of my PhD research, where I got to learn lots of new research techniques, meet famous scientists and make lots of great friends. I also got to fit in an incredible holiday in the outback as a reward for my hard work!
