I have been involved in cancer research since 2009.

I started being interested in cancer and the biology behind the disease when I studied Human Biology at A-Level

I started my degree in 2002, so I’ve been learning about cancer since then! Started working at a specialist cancer hospital during my degree as a placement for a year in 2004, and have been in the NHS ever since diagnosing cancer in a histopathology lab

I have doing cancer research for about 2 and half years. But I learnt about cancer during my University Degree in about 2005-6. So I have been learning about cancer for 8 years and I still don’t everything.

I have been working in a cancer research lab for 5 years, but I have always been fascinated by how diseases are caused and what can be done to cure them. I specialised in studying infectious diseases in the final year of my degree, but first became interested in how viruses can cause diseases (including cancer) when I heard about an unusual virus called Ebola when I was 12. I was fascinated by how something so tiny could make people so very ill and it bothered me that something seemingly so simple (compared to a human being) couldn’t be gotten rid of using medicine.
