There are lots of answers to this – first, your body is made up of lots of different molecules, for those to be able to work properly you need lots of different nutrients. Different nutrients do different jobs and you need them in different amounts, for example sugar is good for a quick burst of energy, vitamin B keeps your blood cells working properly and vitamin D is good for maintaining healthy bones. The trick is to get a bit of everything without overloading on anything.
Once you’ve made sure you are getting enough nutrients it is important not to have too many calories because being overweight puts your heart under strain and puts you at a higher risk of getting some illnesses. That’s where exercise comes in – it can keep you in shape and helps your body work better in general and it can improve your mood. The best thing is to try and be balanced – never totally ban foods and try and have a little bit of everything!

Eating healthily doesn’t have to mean your on a diet, you can still eat sweets and doughnuts just not too many and make sure you balance that with eating lots of healthier foods too. Otherwise you gain weight. Eating too little can also be bad for you as this means your body doesn’t get enough energy. As the others have said bad diets puts your body at risk of lots of diseases.
Exercise helps keep your body fit and healthy, exercising helps blood flow around the body which keeps cells nice and healthy.

I can give you an exact reason why being healthy is important to reduce your risk of breast cancer – Too much fat and not getting enough exercise leads to an imbalance in the levels of oestrogen and testosterone in the body. This imbalance directly impacts how breast cells grow and can lead to the formation of cancerous breast tissue.
